Freestyle: Afro & Latin

A 45 track latin soul album (3h 44m 16s) — released June 21st 2019 on Freestyle Records

Freestyle by name, freestyle by nature - and this 45 track selection focuses on the latin, bossa, afrobeat and afro-funk side of the labels catalogue, that has been part of the labels musical diaspora and influences from the very beginning.

Going right back to Afrodizz, Quasimode and Chip Wickham's Malena, and taking in the jazz infused afrobeat of The Shaolin Afronauts, Ray Lugo's New York City boogaloo, the Floridian latino funk of Ray Camacho & The Teardrops - and not forgetting one of the originators of afro-cuban based jazz & high life; Ginger Johnson and His African Messengers. We also feature the sounds of wonderful vocalist Guida De Palma collaborating with Jazzinho and produced by the one and only Ed Motta!

Stir into this mix Uk legend Omar's 'Ordinary Day' The Fantastics! organ based African based adventure 'All The People - Part 1'. A blistering performance by percussionist, bandleader & DJ, Snowboy and you have a wide ranging highly eclectic collection of sounds rooted in the world most syncopated musics.
