Too Long

A 2 track broken beat single (10m 15s) — released October 15th 2007 on Freestyle Records

Aroop Roy is a producer, singer and multi-instrumentalist originally from Brighton but now residing in Tokyo. Having started with the violin at a young age, he gradually self taught vocals, guitar, bass and keys. His work celebrates a diverse range of influences whilst maintaining a unique touch which can be easily felt in the music. Elements of jazz, funk, afro and latin have a strong presence and are combined with forward thinking beats and most importantly deep and soulful vibes. Having performed internationally both live and behind the decks and with his music already supported by club and radio DJs around the world, he has been rapidly been making a name for himself in the music scene. 'Too Long' is a bossa-house ballad with a heart-warming vocal line and an irresistable groove that will pack any dance floor. With vocals, guitar and keys all recorded live by Aroop himself, this track has an undeniable authenticity and soulfulness. On the flipside, 'Dirty Groove' is a broken jazz funker with a killer beat, dirty bass and synth lines reminiscent of Herbie Hancock. Already a massive response from DJs such as DJ Spinna, Rainer Truby, Recloose and Simbad this is set to be one of the biggest releases of the year.
