Latin Disco Project

A 2 track disco single (15m 38s) — released March 8th 2004 on Freestyle Records

Nick the Record (aka Nick Girdwood) hails from Brighton, England. His first releases came on the Nuphonic label as part of the Soul Ascendents. He is also famed for his record dealing day job: hence the nickname. His 60,000 strong record collection also has got him a name amongst dj's, collectors and producers around the world. If anyone can get you that rare disco 12', breakbeat or rap tune it's Nick! For his first release on Freestyle Nick assembles a sterling cast of Brighton based Jazz & Latin musicians from groups such as Mr.Hermano, Cubana Bop & Bah Samba to realise his dream Latin-Disco record.'

Freestyle are off the blocks and releasing 12"'s like vinyl was about to vanish! Nick has been a rare record dealer of note for many years and now he's putting his green on the table. Massive, obvious latino piano riffs over big beat disco slabs? an utterly no-nonsense dancefloor banger, a solid unpretentious idea. Daddy Bones - Grandslam Magazine
